How to Resolve Display Issues on PlayStation 5

If you are experiencing display issues on your PlayStation 5, this is typically related to the connection setup between the console and your display (monitor or TV).
Please follow the steps below in order.

 

1. Basic Troubleshooting

Perform the following basic checks to ensure proper connection:

  1. Restart the Console

    • Power off your console completely and turn it back on.

  2. Reconnect the HDMI Cable

    • Unplug the HDMI cable from both your PS5 and the display, then plug it back in securely.

  3. Try a Different HDMI Port

    • Connect the HDMI cable to a different port on your display.

  4. Use a Different HDMI Cable

    • If your cable may be damaged, test with another cable.

 

2. Adjust 4K Video Transfer Rate Settings

If the issue persists, try adjusting your PS5’s video transfer rate settings:

  1. Go to [Settings] → [Screen and Video].

  2. Select [Video Output] → [4K Video Transfer Rate].

  3. Change the setting from Automatic to –1 or –2.

  4. Save the changes, then launch the game again to check if the issue is resolved.
